At Gwauncelyn Primary School we expect all children to achieve a minimum of 94% attendance.

We want all children to understand the value of good attendance and to strive to have this through developing or maintaining healthy attendance habits which when learnt young, will stand them in good stead for the rest of their school career and working life. 

We expect this because it is well known that missing school leads to children developing gaps in their learning. Being absent for just one lesson begins the formation of these 'gaps', missing information that children find almost impossible to catch up on and later becomes a barrier to their progression.

We work closely with the Attendance and Wellbeing Team within RCTCBC to help encourage excellent attendance and help families who need it!
