Home Learning
In the case of partial or full school closure due to the Covid pandemic, year groups will provide home learning as follows;
Every year group will receive one piece of literacy and one piece of numeracy work per day which we recommend is completed in the morning.
There will be two further tasks for the afternoon e.g Humanities, ICT, Topic, Welsh, Science, RE, Art as well as a Health and Wellbeing task which will be PE/mindfulness/PSE related.
If in Year 2 - Year 6 all work will be scheduled at 7am.
Nursery / Reception - A grid of activities uploaded to their class page on school website. You can send a picture to class teachers with completed work to their school email address.
Year 1 - A grid of activities uploaded to their class page on school website. Teachers will ensure work can be completed via Just 2 Easy. Children will need their HWB logins to access this.
Year 2 - Year 6 Daily lessons will be set via Google classroom. Children will need their HWB logins to access this. Teachers will provide work which does not need printing off. Guidance on how to login to Google Classroom can be found below.
Sumbission and Marking
We encourage children to complete work on the day it is set, however due to varying circumstances at home, we will allow up to 12pm the following day. Work submitted after the 12pm deadline will not be marked. For example, work set on a Monday will have a deadline of 12pm Tuesday. Work set on a Friday will have a deadline of 12pm the following Monday.
In case of partial / school closure your child's teacher will monitor their school emails during normal school hours only. These can be found on the class pages and teachers can be contacted for enquiries related to the suggested activities.
Children in Year 2 - 6 will be undertaking work through their Google classroom page where teachers and children can make use of all G Suite for Education apps. Furthermore, all children can download all Microsoft Office 365 apps including Powerpoint and Word for free using their HWB account. How to Access Google Classroom
Google Meets
For smooth running of the sessions, please ensure the following when joining;
- Children enter “on mute” with the microphones turned off.
- Children make use of “raise hand” if they wish to say something.
- Children only “unmute” their microphones if the teacher asks them to do so.
- Children have the option to change their background but we ask that this is only done once.
