Our Year 5 pupils recently participated in an online Spanish lesson led by a Cardiff University languages student called Christine. Christine taught the children about Christmas traditions in Spain and other Spanish speaking countries and she then introduced the children to some Christmas themed vocabulary such as La Nochebuena (Christmas Eve), el arbol de Navidad (Christmas tree) and regalos (presents). The lesson was very interactive and the children were encouraged to ask and answer questions throughout the session. Christine played lots of fun games and the children really enjoyed it when Christine said a word in Spanish and they had to find the matching picture on the screen and call out the answer. The children especially enjoyed singing Feliz Navidad at the end of the lesson. Fantastico!
